Built using Skyscanner’s proprietary search data, a specially commissioned traveller survey* and trusted industry insights, we reveal how and why Australian travellers will explore in 2025.
Trends snapshot
The top experiences and factors determining Aussie travellers’ choice of destination are weather (66%), the attractions (65%), food (63%) and culture (59%).
Currency exchange rate (32%) and cost of tourist attractions (32%) are the top cost factors determining the choice of holiday destination in 2025, followed by visa fees (17%).
Word of mouth (53%), social media (52%) and film and TV (36%) are the most important sources of travel inspiration for 2025.
