Departing from Amsterdam

The Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS) is the primary airport for the city of Amsterdam and sees most of the country’s aviation traffic depart from here. The amenities are excellent, with communication needs covered by free WiFi, public telephones, internet stations, and mobile phone hire, and monetary needs sorted via the numerous ATMs, banks, and currency exchange counters. There are plenty of restaurants, bars, cafes and snack kiosks here, as well as a plethora of shops selling books, electronics, and gifts, as well duty-free products. Other highlights include a hairdresser’s a casino, showers, and a massage parlour.

Arriving in London

London is one of the largest travel hubs in the world, along with being the UK’s capital, and so you will find that there are six international airports in this city. From Amsterdam, you can be directed to any of them, and these are London Heathrow Airport (LHR), London Gatwick Airport (LGW), London Southend Airport (SEN), London City Airport (LCY), London Luton Airport (LTN), and London Stansted Airport (STN).  All of London’s airports provide passengers with access to ATMs, shops, bureau de change counters, restaurants, newsagencies, duty-free outlets, and free WiFi.

Taxis from any airport in London can be very expensive, with taxi fares starting at 25-30 ($42-50) from London City Airport, but for the rest you are looking at fares of between 80-100 ($138-173).  There are cheaper transportation options via road, and you can book these online with Skyscanner.
