Melbourne Avalon Airport (AVV) is the smaller of Melbourne's 2 main airports, handling flights with Jetstar and Qantas. All flights use a single terminal, which is open daily from 5:00am to midnight. The terminal has a selection of stores and cafes landside and airside.
You can get from Melbourne to Avalon Airport on the SkyBus shuttle bus, taxi or private vehicle. The airport is twice as far from the city as Melbourne's main airport, Tullamarine, so allow 45 to 60 minutes in normal traffic. You should arrive at the airport at least 1 hour before catching domestic flights to Adelaide.
Arriving in Adelaide
Adelaide Airport (ADL) has a single terminal for all flights, with services across 3 levels. Domestic arrivals come in on level 2, with baggage reclaim on level 0. You can take out cash, get a bite to eat or visit the stores before heading to the exits.
Adelaide Airport is around 7km from the CBD. To get there, you can take the JetExpress bus (JX1), local bus (J1, J2 or J8), metered taxi from the rank outside, book a rideshare service, or rent a car from Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz, Redspot, Sixt or Thrifty.
