Truly an amazing atmosphere from just the amazing staff alone. Friendly, helpful, supportive, respectful, and welcoming.

Went out in morning carrying jewellery cash passports etc as didn’t want to leave it in room, not ideal as large crowds due to mardi grare.
Offered another room but it was a box room very small so declined, decided to lock valuables in suitcase and went out to see parades, not feeling comfortable with situation went back after 1hour to collect valuables found room door on “latch” left like this by cleaner, asked to see manager but he was in meeting,went past office after waiting for 30 minutes he was in office alone, insisted he came out which he did , said he’d replace safe immediately?!?
Returned on night, new safe on shelf but not BOLTED in ???? lifted it up and put it on floor, as on high shelves, continued to carry valuables around with us.
3rd and final night came back room not cleaned and no towels.
Conclusion: safe unusable did staff leave door ajar for someone to enter and take valuables who knows?? Final day and checking out for 11am.
Maid knocked on door 10.30 to deliver welcome letter and instructions about restaurants and parades routes, including that should we check out late we would be charged !!! put luggage in storage as transport wasn’t until 1500 hours and given receipt to collect luggage on our return, no on there so walked out of hotel with our luggage as could anyone have done, I still have receipts.
Got the feeling that the reception staff just couldn’t be bothered and we were an inconvenience, that’s when you could find any.
GOOD: nice bar area with great staff especially Rennie who worked her socks off.
Good location for parades.
