It is ok!!

I have to say that I did a roadtrip in the USA. And I was quite lucky with the places I stayed in. (Great new refurbished places!)
This one , in my opinion was in the last position in all the places I stayed in with the one in San Francisco, but not because there were bad, it is because the other ones were excellent!!! Better than a hotel!!!!!
First of all, this place It is in a working class area, it is not walking distance to the beach I think but I am not sure as I was using the car.Behind this place there is a Goodwill (for me this is awesome!) and if you drive at the end of the road there are Mcdonadls, Taco Bells, KFC , dollar tree... I had breakfast everyday in McDonald's hahaha and the Long beach main area was around 10 minutes drive. For us, we just wanted a cheap hotel , with no deposit and free car park as we were going only to use it for sleep and a quick shower.
I think I payed around £100 for 3 days , so not bad.
I would recommend this place if you go like us , to sleep (not noises around of neighbours as the manager is really strict about respect between rooms ) and to have a shower.
I have to say I have been in muchhhhh better places , but obviously I have paid double price almost.
The area maybe you can think is dangerous but I left my key outside the door and the next morning was in there.
Like other people has said , there is lot of cctv.
My room was very clean, and didn't have many furnitures, that is perfect for me as I had lot of luggages. The only noise was the fridge , so I unplugged it.
The man in the reception was professional.
We don't have anything bad to say about this place! If we go back we will stay one or two days !

Horrible

Pulled in to someone being arrested and what looked like a family moving out. I only got the bump up to sub par customer service after I threatened to call my husband.
Smoking room which REAKED
Porn on TV when I turned it on
Dirty ice machine with "bonus" pieces in the ice
Fridge was broken
Told to leave with no refund if I was unhappy
Stay anywhere else.

Not the worst

I was legitimately nervous after reading the reviews, and it's true; the hook for this place is the price. The parking spaces are small but my Chrysler 300 fit just fine. Backing out was tricky but not impossible. I brought my own bedding so I didn't even crack into that business. The check in was a little lengthy and the room where I did it was small. So what? The manager was friendlier than these reviews led me to believe he would be. Maybe if you arrive with an attitude he reflects that.
Anyhow, the room was bare bones but clean enough. I had to unplug the fridge because it was a little loud and the air conditioner didn't really cool the room too much. The bathroom was clean and the shower was decent. The only real issue was the shower curtain kept touching me and that wasn't my favorite. One of those bars that curves out would go a long way, and the bathroom is big so there's definitely space for it.
The street noise might be an issue for some people, but it didn't affect me. Other than that I can see that the other guests could play a huge role in your experience at the Beacon. There are a bunch of cameras in the parking lot and I feel like the management really keeps an eye out for illegal stuff. This isn't an place for a family.or a honeymoon but it's fine for a cheap motel. Overall it's just fine and the price is right.

No kind words for this hotel, except for its price. Parents beware: porn channel on TV!

I just wanted to get a room to stay for a night, on minimum budget. So this was my chance to test out a 1-star hotel. Boy, this is really an 1-star hotel. I don't want to be too harsh, but price is pretty much the only thing worth some good words.
The hotel looks quite shabby. The room is small and dark. It's not too dirty, but not too clean either. The parking is very small. It's quite noisy inside with cars running on the roads behind the rooms.
The other reviews are right about the manager. He isn't too polite. And the lobby is the smallest I've ever been to in my whole life. You can barely fit into a mini-space and wait for him to process the check-in... Not very pleasant.
Parents beware: you can easily tune to porn channels on the TV. Well, I guess parents won't bring their teenage kids to such a hotel anyway.
This is probably the one and only 1 star rating I've ever given to any reviews. Hopefully the last, too.

Would rather sleep in my car than this place again!! Would not recommend!

First of all, the moment we got there the manager was a real jerk to us and if we hadn't been for us being tired of driving to Long Beach during the late hours we would of checked in elsewhere. He gave me a problem because the reservation I had made the night before was never made. Kind of like the episode from Seinfeld but with a motel room and not a car. lol. Fine, whatever. We go into the room and it smelled and looked nothing like the pics. They even had a cheapo clothes iron and ironing board chained to the wall with a super huge chain, which I got a kick out of. Okay moving on, I had lost the wifi code they gave us so I go to the office to get a copy of the code and the manager refused and said it wasn't his problem and then gave me an attitude when I asked him where the ice machine was. I just went to my room and went to bed. Like I said in the beginning, if we hadn't of drove for so long, I would have found someplace else to rent a room from. The parking lot is so tiny that it you drive anything bigger than a Prius you're going to have to hop out of your sunroof. Never going back, never would I recommend to a person on the smallest budget. Just not worth it.
