Lexington's Old Hotel

The Campbell House is a Kentucky favorite, and the decor is all about horses. The lobby is warm and welcoming. I loved the huge fireplace. The hotel restaurant has fabulous food, ate there 4/5 nights of my stay.
The room is dark (very dark paint which keeps the ambience). The bed was comfortable.
Old walls and carpet.
The window in my room was old and cloudy- not nice at all. The bathroom is VERY small; the door practically hits the toilet when you open it.
There is not a refrigerator or safe. They did bring me a refrigerator when I asked but they told me it doesn't come with the rooms.
Some of the lobby employees never look up or say hello.
Parking is outside but costs $12/day
I'd think twice before staying here again but would revisit the restaurant.

Staying at the Campbell house

This place is fine for biz travel. They do however charge to park which wasn’t mentioned and was subsequently removed from my bill.

Favorite Hotel in Lexington

I live in Lexington, and this is my favorite hotel around. Anytime we have friends/family needing a place to stay, we always recommend the Campbell House. We especially love the restaurant too, and try to go there anytime we can. I am addicted to their Hot Brown at breakfast. Bourbon selection is incredible too.
I really love the character of the place too, and it is very unique for a Hilton.

Great place to stay

The hotel has a lot of history that is main draw to a lot of the visitors. Upon check in the staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. The Rackhouse restaurant provided excellent food, drinks and service. My room was clean and spacious which made my stay enjoyable
