A gem of an airport hotel.

Feburay 1st two nights - Family of four, two rooms checked in by Maher who was very professional.Hotel was busy due weekend cruise passengers. Next morning at breakfast we had the pleasue of meeting and being served by IRENE - what a star.It appears Irene must have a double as she was on duty again in the restraunt and lounge area in the evening.The pool area is a real bonus for an airport hotel,a nice area to sit/sunbath or have a meal.
Only disappointment with the hotel is the fact - although a full service hotel - the bar/lounge does not open to 4pm.If our travels in the future include Fort Lauderdale we would not hesitate in staying at this hotel, even if the bar does not open until 4pm!!!!

Bugs

Bugs, the hotel worker indicated they are juvenile cockroaches.
Discovered cockroaches after being at the pool for a few hours. Hotel refused to pay to dry clean my clothing, which had been sitting in the roach invested room. In fact, Hotel management does not return phone calls or emails.
Went to hotel restaurant that was understaffed and left after twenty minutes without receiving service.
Hotel is run down with lots of deferred maintenance. Elevators, and ice makers seemed like they are on their last legs.

Stay Anywhere Else

The absolute worst hotel experience I have ever had. We booked a room for one night so that we could sleep after our flight before leaving for Key West in the morning. Our flight had been delayed several hours due to Chicago snow, and we weren’t scheduled to get in til around 2am. We were looking forward to finally getting to our bed after hours at the airport/on the airplane. The hotel called us “as a courtesy” to tell us that our room had been given up, since we had not yet shown up, and that we no longer had a place to stay. We had been told we would be refunded. We were not refunded, but instead charged for the night. We called the hotel multiple times to try to rectify this situation, each time being told that a manager was unavailable. Once I finally got a hold of one, Quinto Perchon, I was told repeatedly that I would not be refunded for the stay. He continuously raised his voice at me, told me that “I needed to think of this situation from the business perspective” and that anyone checking in after 6pm takes the risk of not having a room available for them, but still being charged. He was rude, disrespectful, and had horrible customer service skills. They are making double the amount of money, off of a single room, each time they attempt this scam. We are still in the process of fighting this charge, both with the hotel and with our bank. Literally stay anywhere other than this hotel.

Our flight was delayed causing us to stay overnight in Hollywood, FL. The hotel was really outdated. It was close to airport and provided free shuttle to airport. However, I would have preferred a more modern hotel. This hotel gives motel 6 vibes not as bad but definitely.
