Closer to a 3.5 star review
Now the bad:
As previous reviewer said, the thermostat is only controllable by the hotel and it was always too hot or too cold - there is an in-room thermostat that the front desk said had no effect. When we told them to set it to 71, the room was 75+. When we said to change it down to 70, it was 68 or less. No vent in the bathroom, which was COLD.
Speaking of the bathroom, the toilet was so low to the ground, like I have not seen since my kid's kindergarten bathroom. But the common bathroom toilets in other parts of the facility were the same...very strange. Also, it is obvious at some point the bathrooms had bathtubs which had been remodeled to be a walk-in shower. But only the front half had glass. Because of low water pressure and the lack of a heater vent in the room, it was really cold in the shower. At a different time of year, it might not be as noticeable.
Final complaint/observation - the room was a strange mix of expensive and cheap furnishings. Very nice bed, nightstand, wing chair - then a very cheap, rickety chest of drawers, and a refrigerator and microwave just stacked under the TV set.
Because of its location, we will likely continue to stay there even with the downsides mentioned. It is definitely a good alternative to the closest hotels (Marriott and Sheraton).
