WILD, LOUD AND CRAZY TAKEOVER EVENTS

This was our second (and last) time at the Liberty. The first time was great- which is why we came again. This time was AWFUL. The only reason I gave 1 star was because some of the staff were great. Otherwise they would have zero stars. This hotel should have WARNED its actual guests that there were crazy events this weekend. They FAILED to do so and caught many of us off guard. The first night (Thursday) the lobby was filled with people and loud music. Not sure what event that was but just getting a DoorDash order was cumbersome- didn't expect to have to snake through tons of drunk people. I didn't go to the lobby Friday night so not sure if there was anything. BUT Saturday was INSANE. It started at 2 in the afternoon. Actually it started at 1 in the lobby when the DJ " TABU" set up and did like 25 sound checks. Okay- we get it- you are loud. Some of us just wanted to sit in our groups and chat over a drink but that wasn't happening because you couldn't hear anything. THEN, the music started playing- LOUD. It was 2 pm. Turns out this "influencer" was having his 2nd "Apres Ski" party at the Liberty. His first- beginning of Feb and outside-was such a success that he was "taking over" the Liberty Hotel lobby and bar. And charging 125 per ticket. It ran from 2-9. ( This is all over the internet- if you need to verify its veracity) They kicked out all of the hotel guests- you know the ones that actually paid to stay there. They put "reserved" signs on all of the tables in the lobby. We were stuck in the hotel basically because you couldn't get through the throngs of young drunks dressed in snow bunny costumes to go anywhere. You - also the paying hotel guests- couldn't go to the bar or even to Scampo as most of the exits were blocked by the throngs. And it was SO LOUD. We are on an upper floor and we could still hear the music. Finally, a security issue- the key swipe in the elevators was disabled. So... if someone who wasn't a hotel guest wanted to gain entrance to a floor they easily could. We checked out today and there were a lot of hotel guests rumbling with the front desk staff about these issues. Liberty should have warned us and all the guests about this planned event. I know I would never have booked here if I had known. I believe this dishonesty was planned and deliberate. I will never stay here again.

Dear Janea8,
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We truly value the opportunity to hear from our guests, as it helps us improve. We're deeply sorry to hear that your second stay with us did not meet the expectations set during your first visit, and we completely understand your frustration.
We sincerely apologize for the unexpected disruption caused by the events taking place at the hotel during your stay. We understand how disappointing it must have been to encounter loud music and large crowds in areas that are typically meant for hotel guests to enjoy in peace. We absolutely recognize that our guests’ comfort and experience are our top priorities, and it’s clear we fell short in this instance by not providing you with proper communication about these events in advance. We will certainly take this feedback into account and work on improving our communication moving forward to ensure that future guests are better informed.
We also regret the inconvenience caused by the security concerns you mentioned. Rest assured, we take matters of guest safety very seriously, and we will be investigating this issue with our security team to ensure such occurrences do not happen again.
It’s truly unfortunate that your second visit did not reflect the high standards we aim to provide, and we regret losing your trust. We hope you will reconsider, and we would welcome the opportunity to discuss how we can make it right.
Thank you again for bringing these matters to our attention, and we wish you the best in your future travels.

Not for mature adults

Oh my god. The NOISE. Look, I’m all for having a good time. We came to explore Boston with friends. But the noise in the lobby is insane. I had to go buy earplugs the second day. There is some sort of event or DJ every night and I’m talking EAR SPLITTING LOUD MUSIC. I couldn’t believe the hotel would allow music that loud every single night. It’s like a rave. Every. Night. Genuinely stunned. We would have loved to enjoy the hotel bar and the beautiful lobby area for drinks and dinner. But there’s no possible way. Opposite of relaxing. Only stay here if you’re 25 or under.

Dear KBConroy,
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We're truly sorry to hear that the noise from the events and music impacted your stay. We understand that the atmosphere in our lobby can get lively, especially with events, but we completely understand how disruptive that can be, especially if you're looking to enjoy a more peaceful and relaxing experience.
We take guest comfort seriously, and your feedback regarding the volume of music and events is important to us. While we strive to create a vibrant atmosphere for those who are seeking it, we also want to ensure that all our guests can enjoy their time here in a way that suits their preferences. We will review how we handle noise levels and event planning to improve the balance between lively experiences and a quieter, more relaxed environment.
We apologize that this detracted from your ability to enjoy our lobby and bar, and we appreciate your honest thoughts. We hope you will consider giving us another chance in the future, and we'd love to provide a more enjoyable experience that aligns with your expectations.
Thank you again for your valuable input.
Sincerely,
Matthew Tomkewicz

Autograph Collection. Not Luxury.

I like to give every hotel its fair try despite criticisms on TA. My review history has been consistently luxury hotel stays so the benchmarking is consistent. I hate to say but the negative TA reviews are pretty true.
Average Room Night: $420 USD
Positives:
-Friendly Staff; Iman offered a welcome amenity. Iman also upgraded my room and also changed it again when it was near the elevator (I prefer corner and away)
-Excellent Breakfast Service; but limited option (only continental).
-Molton Brown amenities which is STR level
Negatives:
-Paper thin walls; I can hear everything next door
-Weak shower pressure
-No complementary water bottles. I have to pay to drink $12 USD Fiji bottles. They give you a cheap cup downstairs to fill up your water.
-you can hear the shower pipes sound off next door
-you can hear every door slamming
-rooms are outdated and dirty. Mine has hair and dust everywhere.
tl;dr: this hotel is priced like a Ritz/STR but quality is like a Sheraton.
I gave it a try as I’m trying to find my Boston go-to hotel aka I’m back in 2 weeks. I think I’ll just stay at the Ritz.

Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback about your recent stay with us. We appreciate your willingness to give our hotel a fair try and your consistent benchmarking based on luxury hotel experiences.
We're pleased to hear about the positive aspects of your stay, particularly the friendly staff and Enan's attentive service in offering a welcome amenity and accommodating your room preferences1. We're also glad you enjoyed our breakfast service and Molton Brown amenities.
However, we sincerely apologize for the issues you encountered during your stay. We take noise concerns very seriously, and we're disappointed to learn about the sound transfer between rooms and hallways. We're currently exploring options to enhance our soundproofing, including improved insulation and acoustic panels35.
We understand your decision to consider other options for your upcoming visit to Boston. However, we would welcome the opportunity to regain your trust. If you choose to give us another chance, please contact me directly, and I'll personally ensure your next stay exceeds expectations.
Thank you again for your honest review. It helps us improve and provide better experiences for all our guests.
Sincerely,
Matt Tomkewicz
