Lovely Yorkshire village pub

The Masons Arms in Bishop Monkton is the perfect village pub. Good beer (I had Theaktsons), well priced and enjoyable food, lots of seating inside and out. Dog friendly. It's not a 'gourmet' pub but the food is excellent and good value for money. Well decorated and situated in a beautiful North Yorkshire village. What is there not to love?!

Gorgeous Sunday Roast

Walk over the fields to Bishop Monkton for Sunday lunch at The Masons delicious roast with Gravy to die for, gutted I forgot to photograph the sweet of Easter filled with mousse brownie crumb chocolate shards a raspberry/blueberry compot. Even Millie got dog biscuits and some of my lamb

Perfect Stay

Stayed here for one night when we were going to the races. Accommodation was perfect - modern, spotlessly clean, and comfortable. We went to the pub in the evening which was very welcoming and friendly. We didn't eat there but the meals looked outstanding. Shame they don't do breakfast but the continental package provided was nice.

Quiet country Pub ...

En route to Ripon a sign to this pub pulled us off our journey at lunch time. We were greeted warmly and our drinks order was taken swiftly. We opted for a few starters, tapas style; pulled pork arancini, wild mushroom bruschetta and halloumi fries. All arrived in short order and were nicely cooked, if a little spartan.
This place is out of the way but well worth paying a visit to for good service and fresh, tasty food.

Sammy Miller is amazing, a great place lots of atmosphere, good food and great service.

The Masons Arms has been a regular watering hole and Sunday lunch venue for years, we were delighted to hear that it has reopened up again following the covid-19 outbreak, the pub takes the safety and hygiene standards very seriously whilst maintaining a great atmosphere, the staff are just so lovely and try their absolute best to make sure everyone is catered for and looked after well, the service is great and always accompanied by a warm smile. A good selection of local and craft beers.
The food is great and reasonably priced, a good all round place to visit, plenty of outdoor seating to watch the beautiful stream running through this picturesque village. Definitely worth a visit.
