Very good hotel near Abingdon just off A34.

I stayed at this hotel on many occasion over the past 3 years and there is a reason why I kept coming back. It is a modern and clean hotel with very courteous and attentive staff. The rooms are modern, clean and the bedding is very comfortable. Breakfast is very good with a wide choice of food available to please every taste; the breakfast shift runs the place like clockwork. I also had dinner in the hotel restaurant on many, many, many occasions and I always enjoyed the food.
Parking is free for residents but you have to register you vehicle at reception during check-in.
I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again in the future.

Families should avoid!!

We should have read the reviews more thoroughly, as we also had a poor experience with this hotel. Our family booked a Queen family room, which includes a sofabed. Our children are young and prefer to sleep together. They also prefer to sleep in the same room as the parents because it is a new environment for them.
When we checked into the hotel, we were greeted by a rude receptionist who insisted that the hotel policy did not allow for our family to sleep together since the rooms were very small and could only fit 3 people, despite our children being less than 8 years old. We assured her that the configuration was fine because our children were small. We had previously stayed in hotel rooms in London, with a similar configuration and it was fine for us. However, the rude receptionist would not let us enter the room, despite that we had driven over 2 hours to get to the hotel and we were very tired, especially our children. It became clear that we would not be allowed into the hotel and we were forced to pay for a second room, otherwise, we were asked to leave the premises.
Once we got into our rooms, one of the rooms had two double beds and it was similar size to our previous hotel stays in London. We couldn’t understand why the receptionist insisted we couldn’t fit, when the size was just fine. Furthermore, the floors at this hotel were so thin, we could hear footsteps of the person staying above us in the other room. The other room also had no heating and since we stayed in February, it was very cold. We ended up sleeping all in one room anyways. We called to the front desk to let them know we did not have heating in one room, and they suggested to use one of the portable heaters. This was absolutely unacceptable as we had an infant who could suffer from serious injuries and burns by touching the portable heater. By our third night, the temperature was somehow magically raised in that room.
We rate this hotel 1/5, only for the fact that their restaurant staff were pleasant and friendly. The second room was completely unnecessary, only likely for the purpose of increasing the hotel’s revenue and mediocre occupancy rate. We recommend others to avoid being ripped off at this hotel and avoid a poor overall experience. It does take one bad apple to ruin everything for everyone.

The hotel neglected to inform us that they were hosting a party with a band, which could be heard even in the third floor. This prevented us from relaxing and being able to sleep - the whole point of a hotel. When I called reception they assured me it would finish at 11. It actually went on u too closer to 12. Myself and my children unable to sleep which spoiled our day in Oxford the following day. While the room itself was spacious and comfortable, it was freezing and no amount of adjusting the thermostat helped. No extra blankets were available in the room and only another divers was sent up, which isn’t idea as sleeping with two duvets is quite uncomfortable. The sofas in the room were ripped. Shower was good.

Good location with large car park and EV charging. Dinner and breakfast were good and the onsite gym has everything you'd need - just a bit warm! Comfortable night sleep.

Amazing experience!

Came after being recommended by some friends for a while, and I can’t stress enough how brilliant the food is and how great the service is. A massive thank you to Rachel for being so accommodating to my partner and I! A hidden gem - definitely returning again!
