Fabulous place to stay and great value for money
For me it was the perfect stay. A peaceful haven. Room was spacious and equipped with air-con, a fridge, TV and plenty of storage. A nice balcony to sit outside and relax. The pool was a good size and jets for massage. There was a good number of sun loungers around the pool. The location was very convenient for shops, bars and restaurants and not far from a beach. The staff were fantastic- they were extremely helpful and friendly. I enjoyed dinner at the restaurant- the food was very good, especially the Penang curry. The bar did fabulous lunches and a great place to enjoy a drink. I would definitely recommend staying here iand would not hesitate to stay there again if I return to Khao Lak.

Good value, but is it worth it
In my opinion: Is it a great value, yes. Is it a pretty good location, yes. Was it terrible, no. Would I recommend going somewhere else if you can spend $10 or more dollars per night yes.
In short, it's a great value because you're paying so little and they offer a lot a decent amount. Customer service is pretty good, but in the plumbing is not the greatest and the rooms let in a lot of noise. In short, it's smelly and noisy. If these things won't bother you then you're going to get a great deal for your money.

Definitely again...
Been here for the second time. The location between the beach and the city is ideal for a great vacation. Well-kept complex with functional bungalows and a great pool. The staff is friendly and helpful. Small complex, therefore great for a quiet holiday.

Family-run facility with a feel-good guarantee
We love small bungalow complexes and found exactly that in Happy Lagoon Bungalow. A small, family-run complex with a pool in the center. Beautifully overgrown, large trees also provide shade. We had a bungalow with a pool view, which we really liked.
The design is special with the large stone blocks in the outdoor area and the bar, which are reminiscent of the stone formations of the Similan Islands.
We found the decoration with the deer in the bar area a bit over the top, but that's a matter of taste.
The staff were always very friendly and helped whenever a question arose.
The bungalow was very clean and the food in the restaurant was good.
The only criticism is the dirty edge of the pool above the water's edge. This urgently needs to be cleaned.
If we go to Khao Lak again, we will definitely go to the 'Happy Lagoon Bungalows'.

The Best Staff!
We didn’t stay in the bungalows, although I wished we had as The Bhandari down the road where we stayed wasn’t the best. However, we did sample much of their inexpensive & delicious mountains of food from the restaurant. It was a really popular place where they welcome you like family, & we had the pleasure of getting to know the staff who always made time to stop & chat. I don’t normally single anyone out as it’s not fair on other staff, they were all lovely. But I did add the chap from Burma (he reminded me of my young nephew) on to my WhatsApp as we intended to keep in touch. Unfortunately, I suspected that I’d been hacked so deleted my account & opened a new one. Whilst I’ve managed to get most of my people back, I cannot find the guy from Burma. I would hate for him to think that I have just deleted him, when I did not. Hopefully he or another staff will see this & let him know & he can contact me either through TripAdvisor or maybe there’s another way. I’d highly recommend this place, it really made our holiday.
