A Unique Gem of a Hotel
We loved the fact that our beach sunbeds were reserved for us for our whole stay and the beach service was really good (thanks in particular to Bass).
The Spa should not be missed - yes, it is pricey but the individual hillside huts are an experience and the massage I had was actually the best one of my entire Thailand trip.
Food in the resort was exceptional, although much cheaper options could be found in the lovely little village directly next to the hotel. We also had some really good lunches at the beach bar “Sand in your shoes”. Breakfast choices were superb and a mixture of a la carte and buffet. We are not fans of Japanese food so didn’t try the hotel’s signature restaurant.
We had a few days of rain during our stay and do think that the hotel could benefit from an indoor area that could be used for dining in poor weather.

Wonderful hotel / Spa and wellbeing experience
Highlights of our trip were the visits to the spa which is so beautiful with steps up to private rooms set up the mountain side. We had one memorable and wonderful couples massage high up the hillside whilst a tropical storm roared outside the room!
After a consultation with Dr Shetty who is with the resort from February to April my wife enrolled in a three day wellness program. This has been a real eye opening experience and feel all she learned will help us both make real changes to our lifestyle, improving our health for now and the future.

Great all round experience and good management.
A big plus is that there is a great little village behind the Hotel with restaurants etc. Quiet and not too intense like many other places near Thailand Hotels.
Service good apart from 1 breakfast when it was super busy. We got attended to very well the next day so management was responsive. Overall enjoyed the location and the resort. Would go back. 4.5 stars but we rounded that up due to the responsiveness of management to any issues.

Guests have the options of travelling to the resort via private/shared speed boat transfer or the public ferry service. Transfers from the airport to the speed boat pier or ferry pier can be arranged by the property. Private speed boat transfer: A representative will be waiting at Samui Airport to escort guests via car/van to the beach lounge at Bangrak Pier that offers free refreshments. The speedboat journey is 40 minutes long and disembarks at the resort. Please note that the drop-off location may change depending on the weather conditions. Scheduled shared speedboat: The speed boat departs from the resort and the Bangrak facility at the following times (journey takes approximately 40 minutes): Departing Anantara Rasananda Koh Phangan Villas: 9.00 am and 2.00 pm Departing Samui : 12.30 pm and 5.00 pm Public ferry & land transfer: Guests will be dropped off at Samui’s public pier for a high speed ferry or Catamaran ride to Phangan’s Tong Sala pier.
