Top Sigiriya rock view, money worthy, DELICIOUS breakfast!

Akila Homestay - known as MAHESHMA HOMESTAY on Booking.com is definitely nice place to stay in Sigiriya.
- Very nice young couple is still building up the house, but my double-bed room was just perfect!
- safe place so I kept door and balcony door open for wind draft
- could park a scooter under the stairs
- shower was very nice and clean.
- TOP TOP BREAKFAST I've had in Lanka in 4 weeks!
When I was there in June 2019, no signage on the road - check the picture of the house on Booking,com (Maheshma homestay) to recognise the house.
Please help this family to build up their dream, be respectful to bit poorer English and if you like the place, write a review for them :) Enjoy your stay!

Very nice and small Guesthouse, amazing View and delicious breakfast!

Me and my girlfriend stayed one night at akila homestay to see the sunset at Pidurangala Rock.
It was a very nice, big and clean room and the balcony is really amazing, with a wonderful view on the famous lion rock.
The breakfast was really tasty and the best we had so far on our trip.
Dont let the outside look of the building shock you, the room is great.

Beautiful room, delicious breakfast and a magnificent view.

Me and my boyfriend stayed for one night at Akila homestay. The room was big, clean and very stylish. The people are friendly and helpful. They served us a delicious and big breakfast we could enjoy with view on the rock, which is only 15min walk away.

Best money value ever

We stay there with my girlfriend for one night during our Sri Lanka trip. I had never seen that before. 8$ for a room with one of the best view on the rock in the city, a big and good breakfast and a fast wifi as well !
The room is nice and clean. The building is still in construction, don’t be worry by the outside aspect !

Hier komen we nooit meer terug.

Allereerst was het onmogelijk om te vinden, omdat die op Booking.com onder een andere naam stond. Zelfs de lokale bewoners hadden hier moeite mee.
Er was 1 bed opgemaakt ipv 2, dus we moesten met z'n 2en in 1 bed. Nadat we het vroegen kregen we alleen een onder laken in onze handen gedrukt..
De bedden waren letterlijk van beton gemaakt. De nacht was vreselijk en het voelde alsof het huis in elkaar storte.
De 'gast'heer spreekt zeer matig Engels en zijn zus en vader helemaal geen woord.
We hadden breakfast included. Maar hebben dit niet gekregen. Dit vonden wij zeker niet erg aangezien we het ook niet zouden vertrouwen.
Ik raad echt niemand aan hier naar toe te gaan.
++ Het uitzicht op de Lion rock vanaf het balkon is wel heel mooi en de kamer is groot.
