Getting out of the hustle and bustle pays off.

We were visiting Cudillero and it was lunch time. The town was full with long lines at all the restaurants on the seafront. Our surprise was that while we were talking among the family to see which line we were in, a man from the area heard us and asked for permission to give us a recommendation: "Outside of town there are restaurants that are just as good and without lines." One of those restaurants was this one. I called right away, booked without problems for the time we wanted and we went around one more time.
Upon arrival at the reservation time, we were immediately seated at our table. No queues, no waiting....
The food was very good and the service was very good: Seafood soup, scallops, etc. And for dessert, some custard and rice pudding, delicious.

Go elsewhere

When we got to our room, it smelled musty. Sat down on the bed and the bedspread was damp. We actually took it off the bed and layed it over the chair. We should have left but the people who work there all left. We ended up being the only ones there all night. We had no contact numbers if anything happened.
Was just weird. Breakfast was included but consisted of coffee and cake. No substitutions. Would not recommend.

Small But Adequate

This hotel is remote. We arrived on bicycles only to find that there was no food or drink because the restaurant closes at five o’clock. Our room was small but clean. It is on a fairly busy road but the traffic noise calmed down at bedtime. They served a nice breakfast on potato frittatas and coffee.

Arrived just before closing!

We arrived at the hotel just before all the staff left for the day at 6pm! The room was freezing and we had to make do with a picnic dinner which they had quickly prepared for us and then a picnic breakfast the following morning since none of the staff was due back until 9am the following morning.

Friendly bar

We loved this place! Even though we don't speak Spanish everyone was very friendly and tolerant. We visited several times during our short stay in Ballota in order to use the free wifi (which didn't always work) and to have coffee and a beer. We were also very impressed with the menu del did at 10 euros. It was excellent - great food and a great ambience. Highly recommended.
