A good choice in Alkmaar with few big issues at the price
My second visit to the hotel and arguably a better one. A more expensive, but better room. Pleasant and light although a view over apartments would win no prizes. The front office and cleaning staff always pleasant, a good price for the room and the location, just across the canal from the old town is almost perfect. Inside the city it can get very busy with tourists at the weekend. A short walk to the station. Negatives? Another hotel with a shower in the bath, although this one at least has a (slightly loose) grab handles. The bar downstairs without any charm and the breakfast room always seems very busy in the morning. One issue with the cleaning staff, on my three day visit the tea and coffee supplies were never restocked. Three days and two sleeves of coffee - really?

Amazing staff, clean and comfortable hotel, walking distance from the train/bus stations and city centre with plenty to see and do,
Lots of Restaurants to choose from with outside dining and dog friendly options also, boat hire is a 2 minute walk from the front door if want to spend time cruising the canal's on a nice summer's day.

Perfect hotel in Alkmaar
A brilliant hotel, situated on the riverbank, and just a five minute walk from the beautiful city of Alkmaar. The staff are so welcoming and friendly too. The rooms are generously sized, plenty of hot water and great toiletries in the bathroom.
The room also has a coffee machine, which makes delicious coffee.

The Amrath Hotel in Alkmaar is very unique. The girls on reception are so polite, so kind, so helpful and so friendly. I stayed there for business for nearly 3 years running. You won’t find another hotel in NL that comes close to this level of service…the day I left was a sad day…Phil Hunter

Great location for non-car travelers - easy walk to station and town centre. Breakfast good but expensive and did run out of items as staff could not keep up with volume. Double bed very odd as it was two singles pushed together - the matresses kept moving apart in the night creating a Grand Canyon in the middle.
