A traditional setting in the heart of Midelt

I stayed at this charming hotel in the heart of Midelt. The traditional decoration and warm welcome immediately seduced me. I particularly enjoyed the terrace with mountain views, ideal for relaxing after a day of hiking. The staff is very attentive and gave me valuable advice to discover the area. A big thank you for an unforgettable stay!

Another basic hotel used mainly by tour groups

Another large basic hotel in the middle of nowhere. There is no shops, restaurants or houses near the hotel. There is a beautiful view of Atlas mountain range from the front of the hotel.
Hotel is used almost exclusively by tour groups. We stayed 1 night during our tour and there were 2 other groups in the hotel at that night.
Staff is friendly but not everyone is fluent in English.
Rooms are basic. The building and furniture are both mainly made with massive wood. No water tea coffee in the room. No fridge.
A basic Dinner and breakfast is also served in the hotel.

Good value and pit-stop

Not sure I fully understand the ire of some other reviewers… Yes, this is an older hotel, in a remote area, en route between Fes and Merzouga, Erg Chebi, etc. Yes, it’s definitely cold in the main areas, but that is standard for most establishments this time of year and the rooms are toasty. No, there aren’t hair dryers or free toiletries but I don’t know why someone would go to the Atla Mts expecting those. The staff are universally helpful, the overall vibe is “old grandeur,” there is WiFi, hot water, there’s a working bar and espresso machine, and impeccable views of the mountains.

Staff made this stay better

Positives:
Staff were all extremely kind and helpful. Breakfast and Dinner was very good.
Nice balcony on every room.
Negatives:
Not actually in Midelt, Absolutely nothing around this hotel.
Beds were very hard and the pillows were even worse.
Most of the electrical outlets in the room and bathroom did not work.
In North America it would be a 2*
Overpriced if dinner wasn’t included.

Great hotel, but outdated and not really good food

It was a great hotel. On the route from Fez to Merzouga. The rooms are good, despite the heat outside it was wonderfully cool inside. The pool was good and quiet. The food, breakfast and dinner were not really special. Dinner wasn't quite hot anymore and tough meat. There are many group tours at this accommodation.
