The republic hotel
My friend and stayed at this lovely hotel for one night during our trip to Malta. It was modern clean and right in the heart of central Valletta. It’s well situated close to bars and shops. Very friendly, helpful staff. I would stay here again .

NOTHING RECOMMENDABLE
Nothing recommended, I expected much more than a 4 star hotel for my opinion would not have 2, they have no reception 24 hours, mega small hotel, we were given a room with patio with drains seen etc etc, smells of very unpleasant pipes, breakfasts with very little variation. they have no buffet, it takes a long time to be able to breakfast because they only have 2 people one in kitchen and one on counter. Toilet paper very scarce. The least any hotel does is welcome you and welcome you, not here, quite the opposite, the elderly lady attending reception is very unkind. Look very well at reviews and photos because that's very important so you don't get disappointed.

No electricity, jackhammer all night, for 2 nights...horrible stay and no refund while the minimum service we paid for is not assured: electricity and sleep! Frankly no service after sale.our stay was ruined

Excelente!!!
breakfast is incredible!!! Very delicious, the staff is very friendly! and the rooms are large and comfortable! I remendo 10000% is right in the center! which makes it easy to get anywhere, the service is very good, they told us where the best monuments in Malta were!!

Friendly oasis in the heart of the vibrant city
We were lucky enough to arrive at around 11pm on Notte Bianca, so the city was in full carnival mode.
The hotel is situated on one of the main streets, Republic Street, so is perfect for sightseeing - you literally walk out of the door and you are in the centre of the city. It's not the easiest to get to by car as it's full of pedestrians. Our cab had to let us out at the Barrakka lift as he could not get further into Valetta. Whilst it was only a 10 minute walk, it was quite difficult negotiating old streets/paveing and masses of people with our cases.
The reception is not manned 24/7 but even though we didn't arrive until late, they were expecting us and a lovely gentleman had come back in to welcome us and show us to our room.
Given that it's a very old building, the way to the rooms are up flights of stairs (or lift) and narrow corridors. Very simple and quite sterile. However, the room was lovely. The hotel is quite new, so it was very fresh and clean. Room was spacious, modern and clean and the balcony was amazing! We were able to stand above the city and watch the world go by. (Very narrow, so standing room only, no seating). We thought it may be noisy but once the doors and shutters were closed it was hard to think that we were in the middle of the city.
We had been left complimentary local wine, tea and coffee, which provided a nice welcome.
Bathroom was clean, bright and fresh, with enough room for everything, and we also received towelling robes and slippers.
The breakfast menu was plentiful including cold meats, cheeses and fruit and we had a really delicious full English breakfast included in our room rate. Everything was to order and cooked fresh (not buffet).
As we checked out the lady in reception was super friendly and really helpful, giving us a map and helping us with our questions. She also held our cases securely until later in the day.
We'd definitely recommend it - thank you for a lovely stay.
