Located by the River Casere and 1.2 mi from Predoi, Alpine-style Berggasthof Stern offers a restaurant, free sauna and gym. Surrounded by a garden with playground, it consists of traditional rooms with a balcony. Set on each of the 2 floors and reached by a staircase, rooms at 2-star Berggasthof Stern hotel overlook the woods, the mountains or waterfalls in the distance. Each is fitted with wooden floors and furnishings, a TV and fully equipped bathroom. Open throughout the day, the restaurant specializes in South Tyrol and Mediterranean cuisine. Including cold cuts, 4 different jams and honey together with cereals, yogurt and eggs, breakfast is served buffet style. After a day spent trekking or skiing, guests can unwind on the terrace equipped with tables, chairs and deckchairs during summer months. The on-site library is stocked with 4000 books in both German and Italian. A few miles from the Austrian border, the hotel is 8.1 mi from the Klausberg ski area which is also reachable with a public bus stopping 328 feet away.

Final nice weather..

What shall I say?
Excellent historical structure, when in the valley end there was only the Berggasthof of the Stern family (I saw the historical photos displayed in the entrance).
Times change but Igor and Mrs. Maestra Paola lead this little corner of Paradise where everything ends and everything begins trespassing on the various views ..
Where times end, everything slows down and then accelerates when you walk on foot, where you are surrounded by nature that commands, where you are surrounded by the bluest greenery .. You feel small and helpless and you force yourself along the paths.
You become family and you rely on each other. I help each other.. Spirit of freedom.. This is my real mountain.
As soon as I return home "after 1009 km" my children ask : when will we return to Kasern from Igor ?
I hope soon..
Then the service, breakfast and dinner, I don't give a damn, even if it was all very plentiful and good quality... I don't describe the products, so go and taste for yourself if you find a place.
I will definitely return....
Ps.. The only note is Igor taking you.. For the... U.. around..is a pain in the ass..
Precisely for this reason he is very nice.
God willing I will gladly return with my family.

Beautiful location, family run

A corner of paradise the location, the familiar and comfortable thanks to the friendliness, friendliness and availability of Igor and his mother Paola that make you feel at home. Not to mention the homemade cakes, honey, alpine butter, mushrooms picked and cooked, gulash... that make customers come back (who naturally become friends) every year. A heartfelt thank you from all of us!

Mount Analogue

I missed to meet Heidi, the goats and her flock of sheep. Kasern is a wonderful place and the Hotel Stern the best place to stay, upon me. Perfectly located at the end of the valley, I spent a week with my partner for hiking and we loved all the places recommended by Igor: the hotel owner.
He is smart, helpfull and entertaining. The cuisine with all the plates made by him and Ms Paola is great. I also appreciated the great book collection on the first floor. If you decide try to stay at least 4 full days in order to have a taste of the different aspect of this hotel at the end of the world :)

Sehr freundliches Hotel in ausgezeichneter Lage

Sehr schönes Hotel in ausgezeichneter Lage zum Wandern. Der Besiitze Igor ist überaus freundlich. Das Frühstück und die Halbpension läßt keine Wünsche offen .Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber. Das Hotel kann man bedenkenlos weiterempfehlen .

Dall'Appennino di Avellino alle Alpi del Suedtirol...1000 km di passione in linea retta.

Hotel degli amanti della montagna vera... Una decina di camere ben tenute e con ottimo servizio di pulizia. Partiamo dalla colazione: burro di malga, miele delle arnie circostanti sul sentiero della via crucis che conduce alla chiesetta di Santo Spiririto, latte e pane nero fresco, yogurt del posto e marmellate squisite. Poi torte fatte in casa, speck e formaggi di ottima qualità. Nella mezza pensione a cena piatti tipici della valle Aurina, poi proposte toscane della Maestra Sig.ra Paola. Il Figlio Igor, nonché proprietario di questo bellissimo berggasthof, raccoglie i funghi dopo la pioggerellina notturna, seleziona i migliori prodotti e formaggi della valle...Piatti abbondanti e di qualità eccellente. Qui "gli ospiti non scelgono ma sono scelti". Proprietari schietti e sinceri, senza fronzoli come una vita di montagna richiede a queste quote. Se amate il comfort ed il lusso andate più giù, c'è molto da vedere, qui si cammina e vi trovereste a disagio. Se volete osservare la natura vera, i ritmi delle stagioni di un tempo, le autentiche e vere malghe dei dintorni oltre i duemila che offrono solo due o tre piatti di quel che producono, allora questo è il posto giusto..
