I can only recommend this Pension. Super well placed, extremely welcoming and kind staff. Very close to the beach of purity, spacious room and with sea views.

Better avoid. They owner only cares to take your money
We booked Palazzo Colombo (which all of a sudden appeared to be owned somehow by Palazzo Presta), and first negative surprise that ONLY appeared AFTER the booking completion, is that breakfast is served in Palazzo Colombo , meaning you wake up and when its 45 Celcius under shade, you need to sweat walking almost 500m to the other building.
The people that are at the reception (in both establishments) are seemingly polite at first glance but upon any special request, they need to ask the manager/owner , that prefers to be put of reach during weekend, meaning that if you request something on Friday, it is most likely you will (if at all) get an answer on Monday.
In our case we got answer on Thursday, meaning 6 days later, when we were already 2 stops further away. Thats not nice.
The breakfast is amazingly poor and none pays attention to your preferences even if you repeat it again and again (in italian) but instead they do what they are used to. In my case, they did not pay attention to a G6PD allergy and despite asking, they served inappropriate food that if i was not asking all the time , i d probably be already in hospital ER.
The check out was a nightmare as we had to again go to the other establishment, none helping us with luggage, under 39 degrees celcius.
Mind you that parking is another huge nightmare and you never know whether you ll find your car in tact, after spending probably 40 mins to find park place !! (Any time of the day)
We are lucky to be travelling 15 days every month across europe and beyond, but never had such an experience so i thought i need to inform potential clients, as its not always the case that its part of the Italian south that is even sweet at times, as we stayed and we still are in an amazing establishment in Matera, but really, keep your money for elsewhere and dont spend it there, as the owners clearly only care to rip you off and not respect you as deserved.

- front desk friendliness : 7/10
- overnight cost : 4/10
- value for money : 2/10
- relaxation mood : 3/10
- breakfast : 2/10
- facilities : 4/10
- parking 1/10
- accessibility for disabled : 0/10
- aftersales service : 1/10
All in all, there are way better establishments at an even lower price that you wont believe it. At that price range, Palazzo Colombo or Palazzo Presta should offer 5* service and not mediocre 2*.

Le rispondo punto su punto:
- riguardo la colazione è specificato chiaramente che viene effettuata presso Palazzo Presta. Non possiamo, purtroppo, verificare che ogni ospite legga tutte le informazioni inerenti la struttura presenti all'interno della conferma della prenotazione. In ogni caso la distanza è di circa 150 mt e come si può evincere dalle altre recensioni il problema è quasi ed esclusivamente suo.
- rigurdo il parcheggio non è un servizio che offriamo e non è mai stato specificato all'interno della prenotazione pertanto dovrebbe giudicare il Comune di Gallipoli e non noi che ci preoccupiamo anche di venirla a prendere con la golf car se possibile.
- riguardo la qualità della colazione faremo le oppurtune verifiche ma anche li sembra essere l'unico sfortunato cliente a non essere stato trattato con la giusta attenzione.
La invito a godersi di più la vacanza e di prestare più attenzione alle informazioni presenti all'interno della conferma della prenotazione.

Charming but not very practical
Nice decoration and comfortable room (well soundproofed and air-conditioned)
The Palazzo Colombo (which we had booked and chosen voluntarily) is well located and has a view of the sea. Access to the upper floor is via very steep steps (see photo in other reviews).
You have to go and have breakfast at the Palazzo Presta, a 5 minute walk away, which personally I don’t really like… Friendly service but made-to-order breakfast formula, a bit strange and complicated
At Palazzo Colombo, there is no reception and the door to the street does not close properly, which poses a security problem. Basically, I think it's better to be in the main building (Palazzo Presta) and a real hotel, even without a view
Furthermore, parking your car in Gallipoli is a problem in summer: no real solution even if you pay - you have to find a space in public car parks; we arrived there at one o'clock in the morning when people were leaving

beautifully renovated and decorated Palazzo at a great location!
If you ever wondered what it’s like to stay in an Italian Palazzo, then this is a wonderful experience! The rooms are spacious, location superb and breakfast just delicious! We were very intrigued by the charm of Gallipoli and the Palazzo just added the best to it!

Soggiorno meraviglioso!
Palazzo storico bellissimo nel pieno centro di
Gallipoli vecchia a due passi dal Castello e dal
Porto. La struttura è molto elegante e contraddistinta da un arredamento ricercato con elementi vintage e moderni. Lo staff è molto gentile, solare ed accogliente... soprattutto Davide che ci ha supportato durante tutto il soggiorno e anche prima del nostro arrivo con preziose informazioni e consigli. Il servizio di pulizia è eccellente... le camere profumavano come appena arrivati ogni giorno e la biancheria era di ottima qualità. La colazione è fenomenale... ampia scelta tra dolce e salato. Consigliatissimo!
Gallipoli vecchia a due passi dal Castello e dal
