Night at the Museum.
This is a homestay that is offered in the large palace museum, on the lower floor there are about a dozen salons furnished with vintage furniture and exciting interior elements, and probably at least as many rooms for private use. Upstairs are guest rooms that look more like museum exhibits than hotel rooms. The rooms have authentic vintage furniture and plenty of interesting vintage furnishings.
Our room was quite spacious and bright.
The bathroom had a rare old-fashioned sink with separate taps for cold and hot water, as it was in the old days and as the English still prefer to use (much to the dismay of all the tourists). Of course, it is very inconvenient to use two separate taps, but in this case we treated it as an exotic experience.
The shower cubicle and shower faucet were in a rather poor condition.
The house is grand, but both the house and the furniture are quite worn. Despite this, it all left a positive impression.
Breakfast is served to everyone together at a large table and freshly made croissants are offered for breakfast. We are used to eating salty food in the morning and the host was kind enough to make us an omelette.
It is not written anywhere that it is a hotel and not on any of the doors is it written that there is a reception.
We made several rounds around the palace looking for the right door and then we started to try which door was open one after another.
There is actually no reception, somewhere in the back room there is an office for that.
On our trip to France, the two most important criteria for choosing hotels were that it should be a palace and that it should have an outdoor pool.
Of course, the use of the pool always depends on the weather, but this time the pool was not used, not because of the weather, but because the pool cleaning system had stopped working and the water in the pool was green.
I feel like we didn't get the room I booked. The reservation does not specify which room exactly is reserved, and since the reservation was made a long time ago, I don't remember all the details for sure.
There are two double rooms with a garden view, one of which is a bit more expensive and I remember that I chose it because it was the only room with a bed without an elevation on the foot side, because I am tall and I usually sleep with my feet over the edge of the bed, so I never choose a room with a bed with a high leg edge.
Mobile internet coverage was weak and we could not connect to the house's Wi-Fi.
The fact that the door to the room does not lock is also very unusual, there is no lock on the door and it never has been. If I can even trust the owners, I hesitate to trust other hotel guests, whom the owners usually see for the first and last time.
According to the description on Booking.com, there should have been a safe in the room, but there was not.
We also missed the fridge.
Despite some disadvantages, staying there was a nice and very unique experience.

Go for it!
The hosts are infinitely kind, very warm and you quickly feel at home in this extraordinary setting.
+: Access to the swimming pool, tennis, ping-pong, excellent value for money, excellent welcome
-: If there was one thing to note, it is indeed the absence of a restore point. There was no restaurant in Craon or the surrounding area, forcing us to take the car for about twenty minutes and go to Château-Gontier for dinner.
