The town of Newcastle is serviced by Newcastle Airport which is a small facility, but surprisingly well-equipped. There are six different food outlets, a large News Travels retailer that sells reading materials, confectionary and souvenirs, as well as ATMs, and free WiFi.
The airport is situated around 25km from the city centre, and can be accessed by bus or taxi. The bus is far cheaper, but there are taxis that will meet you outside the terminal area and take you into town for $65.
