Never Less Than 5 Star Experiences

A wonderful and beautifully appointed hotel on the shoreline of Connecticut. I have stayed at this hotel in the past, and the service and venue are always top tier. I recently hosted a work event in the ballroom, and the guests were over the moon about the space and the food. Staff is terrific across the board, from the front desk, to the valet, housekeeping, serving staff, you name it. The restaurant inside the hotel (The Wharf) is excellent. If you are looking for a one or two night getaway on the beach, regardless of season, look no further.

Went for a business trip, will be back for pleasure

Beautiful views, comfortable rooms, nice waterfront restaurant. I went on business but I plan to return with my wife for a romantic weekend. The front desk manager was friendly and solicitous. When I booked my stay he made sure to offer an ocean view room. When I left a phone charger, he cheerfully sent it to me. Nice experience.

Incredible Beach Getaway

I just stayed at the Madison Beach Hotel for Easter weekend 2025 and can't say enough about the quality of the customer service. The hotel's front desk manager is incredible. I wanted a bike to ride for the day, and even though they were not out for the season yet, he got one for me. The food is fabulous, and the location is stunning, right on the beach. It's a wonderful getaway with a short walk to the quaint town of Madison. I will be staying there again. Thanks for an enjoyable weekend.

Underwhelming dinner at The Wharf on Easter

This has always been one of my favorite hotels. Unfortunately, they did not have the king bed long island sound view available for the night before Easter, so I booked a reservation elsewhere with an exceptional view. I did however have dinner on Easter at the Madison Beach Hotel. In the past I've spent numerous Easters here, enjoying the wonderful food and exceptional atmosphere in the ballroom. This year, there was no buffet, it was a sit down dinner at the wharf. We were a large party and separated for dinner. Some of our party was in the dining room, we were stuffed into a corner nook on a high top table. It would be fine for appetizers & drinks at the bar, but for an Easter dinner it wasn't very comfortable. It took well over 2 hours to receive our food, after our orders were taken. But I should have expected that when it took 45 minutes to get drinks. I had the chillean sea bass which was tasteless and overcooked. Dinner was underwhelming and fair at best.
We never saw the Easter bunny, but we heard he was there. I'm sure my grandchildren would have appreciated seeing him too. I'm not sure if there's been a change in ownership or change in the kitchen, but this definetely isn't what I've experienced at the MBH in the past. The hotel & grounds appear as beautifu and well kept as ever.
