Wonderful Stay!!
We arrived several hours later than expected due to flight delays and high winds so when we arrived it was dark and the resort was quiet. Quiet for a Saturday night on Spring Break left me even more skeptical but after a long day of travel we decided to get a good nights sleep and start fresh the next day.
The next morning we woke to a stunning sunrise and workers diligently scrubbing and manicuring the grounds. They were combing the beach to clear it of any seaweed and to make it beautiful. The staff was so friendly, always smiling, and really cared about giving their guests the best experience ever!
We spent many hours every day on the GORGEOUS beach, on occasion moving to the infinity pool or hot tub. The waters are rough- and it was super windy the whole time we were there, but the lifeguard was always aware and we even saw him swim clear out to bring someone back to shore that was stuck on a boogie board.
I read many reviews about food being mediocre but I couldn't disagree more! I am a pretty picky traveler, always looking for the best- and the Emporio far exceeded my expectations. The selection was amazing, the views from the buffet stunning, and the restaurant by the swim up bar was the most beautifully decorated restaurant ever! This same restaurant doubled as the Sunset Grill for lunch (a buffet style different than the breakfast and dinner buffet restaurant) and at night this was a reservation only restaurant that served international food. This was not a buffet rather a 5 course meal that was brought to your table one course at a time. This dinner experience takes about 90 minutes but it was delicious!!
The pools are impeccable and the pool closest to the lobby is the activity pool. We made bracelets, they had corn hole, life size chess, and other daily games. They had volleyball nets in the activity pool as well as beach volleyball. They also had beach front massages and served lunch and drinks on the beach.
Nightly entertainment was also good. We got to see a Hawaiian show, a fire show on the beach, and our favorite was karaoke night! My only complaint is I wished it lasted more than the 90 minutes it did.
Overall, we LOVED everything about the Emporio!! We never wanted to leave. I am leaving this review because I know there are so many options in Cancun and the Emporio really should stand out. I wish I would have read a review like this when we were spending days on end looking at resorts and reading 100's of reviews. Book this place! You won't regret it!!!
