Through LAN Airlines’ online check-in, you can save time and select a seat ahead. Passengers are advised to complete their online check-in between 48 and 2 hours before the scheduled departure time of their flight. All LAN Airlines guest are eligible for online check-in except for guests who have special needs, those who are travelling with animals, and those who are travelling with more children than adults on the same reservation. Persons under these categories are advised to complete their check-in at the airport. On the day of the scheduled flight, passengers are required to be at the airport the time shown on their boarding pass and drop off their baggage at the LAN counters.
Carry-on baggage is free of charge and each passenger is only allowed to carry one piece of hand luggage plus a personal item. In the economy class, the luggage should have a maximum weight of 7kg, while the personal item may be a purse, laptop, or a diaper bag. In the premium economy and premium business classes, the maximum weight allowed for the carry-on baggage is 16kg. Other personal articles like jackets, umbrellas, small cameras, and a small bag of duty free goods are also allowed to be carried onboard, provided that the passenger keeps them in his possession or stows them under the seat. Standard volume of checked baggage should not exceed 158cm/62 inches linear. Standard weight is 23 kilos or 50lbs. Exceeding the standard weight and the number of luggage pieces will have additional charges. Foldable wheelchair, crutches or other orthopaedic device, and a guide dog with certification are free of charge. Baggage allowance for infants include 1 piece of 23kg baggage. Stroller, chair, and bassinet can be carried onboard provided that there is available space. Allowances for infants only apply to children ages 2 and below.
LAN Airlines cabins are divided into three: economy, premium economy, and premium business. When checking in online, passengers are given the opportunity to choose their seats, whether in middle, aisle, or window. The online check-in service may be used until 2 hours before flight departure. LAN Airlines allow passengers to purchase an extra seat next to theirs so they can travel more comfortably, especially those with medical needs. This request can be made through LAN Airlines dedicated contact centre or at LAN Offices. Purchasing an extra seat only applies to fares that allow reserved seating. The cost is same to that of an adult ticket. This service is only available in the economy cabin.
Inflight services include shopping for duty free products, airport VIP lounges, and various choices of food and refreshments. Onboard entertainment is also provided. LAN Airlines offer a wide selection of movies, TV shows, music and games.
